It was a challenging Friday afternoon at Monza as James took to the track for his first qualifying session with Van Amersfoort Racing. Running in Group A, he was among the first drivers to hit the circuit – but the short 10-minute session proved tricky from the outset.

With all drivers in the group jostling for position and aiming to secure the perfect tow, much of the session was spent in traffic or queuing at low speed. That left just one chance for a flying lap towards the end, limiting opportunities to maximise performance.

Group B later benefitted from slightly improved conditions and clearer running, meaning James will line up P24 for both the Sprint and Feature races this weekend.

Still, there’s everything to play for across the next two days at the Temple of Speed – and James will be looking to make the most of every opportunity as racing gets underway.
