There was bitter frustration for James in Sunday’s FIA Formula 3 Feature Race at the Hungaroring, as a no-fault collision ruined any chance of adding to his points tally. A rain-soaked grid and early safety car set the tone for a disrupted and chaotic race, which ultimately delivered more drama than racing.

Starting from 11th on the grid, James carefully navigated the early laps in treacherous conditions and kept out of trouble as multiple incidents triggered interruptions. But with just under 15 minutes remaining, his race was turned upside down. Noel León misjudged a move and collided into the side of James’s car, sending him spinning off the track and to the back of the field.

Despite the hit, James managed to rejoin the race and bring the car home in P22. León was handed a 10-second time penalty for the contact, but the damage had already been done. It was a cruel end to a weekend that had shown so much promise after Saturday’s fourth-place finish in the Sprint.

Now the focus shifts to the season finale at Monza in September, one final opportunity to end the campaign on a high.
